Seychelles Port Victoria Wind Farm project anniversary

  • 17 June 2019

Celebrating its sixth anniversary, the Port Victoria Wind Power Project, Masdar’s six-megawatt (MW) wind farm in the Republic of Seychelles, is the country’s first large-scale renewable energy project. It accounts for more than 8 per cent of the grid capacity on the archipelago’s main island of Mahe, where 90 per cent of the country’s residents live. Inaugurated in 2013, the project displaces about 10,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
